Week of 12/2-12/9 Workouts!

12/3/07: MP Smarties with the Boys...all 7 Miles!
total running: 1:01 or so
ave 8:57/mile
Heart-rate: n/a
Weather: cool
Notes: It felt really really good to run tonight. Even if it was just me and Coaches Matt and Chip, we still had a great workout. Did three long hill repeats and a run to the Rose Garden and back. It was really dark out and a lot of neighbors have already paid to get their christmas lights put up. It was fun though and good conversations...and thanks for the Boys for not letting me hold them back too much!

12/5/07: 4 Miles by Myself at Home!
38:25 total running
ave 9:36/mile
Heart-rate: n/a
Weather: cool
Notes: Not the most exciting run in the neighborhood, but after the stress of the day, it felt so good to just RUN!

12/6/07: 6 Smartie Miles-with a slight accident!
total running ?
Heart-rate: n/a
Weather: warm-ish and humid
Notes: This was a typical Rose Garden run except Strider Michelle had an accident and ended up banging her leg up:(. Luckily, after the fact, she is okay and we didn't leave her stranded and fending for yourself. Major props to Bessie and Coach Matt for staying with her until 2am at the hospital! Hopefully nothing is broke! (Thankfully, no).

12/8/07: 3 Miles-the Calm before the Storm
27:07 total running
ave 9:02/mile
Heart-rate: n/a
Weather: 80 degrees, and pretty humid
Notes: Well...we all know it isn't always a GREAT idea to do any amount of running before a big race the next day. However, as warm as it was, and the fact I didn't feel 'weather-acclimated' (come on...it's been 50 degrees all week and now it's almost 80!), I had to go out and run 3 miles during the hottest part of the day at my ideal race-pace. Yes, it wasn't fun, yes, it was hot, and yes, I was glad it was over. However, it felt GOOD. It felt really good. Tomorrow...here I COME!

12/9/07: 18.6 Miles aka THE 30k!
(Read about this in a seperate race report!)
