3/19/06: 10 Miles of Suckage in 100% Humidity!

So after a long and stressful weekend where I did not take care of my body like I should have, I knew I needed to get out and run anyhow. Of course, the rain that we haven’t been getting all week finallyyyy happened, and although it was more of scattered showers, it brought 100% humidity outside and pure misery to me.

My legs didn’t want to cooperate and I had to stop and drink every 2 miles…I did take a GU at mile 5 just because I needed ‘something’ to keep me going. This was actually suppose to be a 11 mile run but I decided to cut it short since this is going to be a recovery week for me. And yes, believe it or not, the day after, I am sick with another low-grade cold. Now I have no choice about taking a recovery week:(

The STATS:
10 miles

ave 9:32/mile (slooww)

1:35.25 total running

mile1: 10:10 (legs felt like crap!!!!!!!!)
mile2: 10:01
mile3: 9:03 (okay, much better)
mile4: 9:33
mile5: 9:07 (took GU)
mile6: 9:20
mile7: 8:44 (‘3 more miles to go!’)
mile8: 9:25
mile9: 9:54
mile10: 10:04 (a little long)

Heart-rate: 166 ave, 181 max

Weather: 100% humidity, mid 70’s. yucky.
